This is a beginner basket project for sewists who are confident in steps like changing the machine needle, adjusting stitch length and width, and pivoting. Prior rope sewing experience may be helpful, though not necessary.

In addition to the pattern, you will need:
Sewing Machine with Zigzag Stitch
15 Yards of The Mountain Thread Company’s custom braided 3/16” rope
One Large (1422-Yard) Spool of Aurifil Thread that matches the rope color
10X10” square of batting
Assorted 2-3” wide fabric scraps (enough to cover the batting square)
Scissors
Glue gun and hot glue sticks (optional)
Scissors

**Wondering if your sewing machine can do this? If you have hemmed jeans/pants, sewn canvas, or stitched through multiple fabric layers with your machine, the answer is most likely 'yes.'
