These coasters are unique, durable, washable, beautiful - and, best of all - made by you! The Set of Six Coasters DIY Rope Basket Kit from The Mountain Thread Company makes six 4-inch ready to use coasters.

The Set of Coasters and Basket Kit contains the following:

  • 8 Yards of 5/16” 100% cotton rope (an exclusive Mountain Thread Company braid made in our home state of North Carolina) three mug rugs!

  • Introduction card with details for machine settings, thread selection, and expanded tips for fabric wrapping and customizing the baskets

  • Detailed instructions with illustrations for making the projects AND finishing detail

  • 1 heavy duty sewing machine needle

  • A link to unlock bonus material on our website.

In addition to the materials included in the kit, makers will need a sewing machine**, scissors, and 50 wt thread. Makers can also incorporate any of their own fabric remnants if desired (fabrics are not included).

It is similar to layers of denim or canvas, which can be sewn on domestic machines. Use the provided heavy duty needle (a size 100/16 denim needle) to accommodate the thickness of the rope.
