Made in the Mountains Quilt Event
Whether you're a seasoned quilter or a new adventurer, this quilt event is unlike any other you'll find in the NC mountains!
The 2018 Made in the Mountains Quilt Event registration is now open! Join The Blowing Rock Quilt Cooperative, Roey's Quilts, and The Mountain Thread Company for a weekend of creative quilting, sewing, crafting, and making in downtown Blowing Rock, NC from Thursday June 21 - Saturday June 23.
This year's spotlight is on t-shirt and memory quilts - taught by Roey Mendel, Blowing Rock's premier custom memory quilter. Participants will be able to walk step by step through the process, from selecting t-shirts and layout to finishing and binding. The goal is for participants to walk away with a completed - or almost completed - project!
Other creative opportunities at the Made in the Mountains Quilt Event include:
- Knitting in the Round with Laura (a 2-day workshop for advanced beginners)
- Coiled rope basketry with Katherine (rope, fabrics, and needles will be provided - participants supply the sewing machine and thread)
- Flea market & swap night on Friday night.
We've got some extra surprises up our sleeves and look forward to having you on board!
The Blowing Rock Quilt Cooperative, Roey's Quilts, and The Mountain Thread Company are delighted to bring this event to downtown Blowing Rock once again.
